For buyers who have a good idea of their desired geographical area as opposed to specific communities, a map search using a custom buyer drawn polygon works great.

Example: Let's say you are looking for a home, between $200 - $350k, but you want to stay west of I75. This will include many communities, too many for you, the buyer to list. To ensure you get all the possibilities within this criteria, and receive an email notification when, and ONLY when, a property within this criteria comes on the market, it would be best to save a map search.

You would start by clicking Search Listings, then clicking the Map tab (1), then click Draw Polygon (2), then start clicking the map, point by point, creating the boundary of your search (3), then add in additional criteria single family checkbox, min price and max price, etc. (4), then click the green Refine Search button to get your results (5), then click Save this Search! in the top yellow bar and give the search a custom personalized name, ie. Naples Homes West of I75 btw $200 - $250k.

Now, each time a new listing comes on the market within those parameters, in your CUSTOM defined geographical area, you will be notified by email.
